You may have seen our officers out and about on electric bikes — and there’s a good reason why. E-bikes allow officers to engage more easily with the public, breaking down barriers that vehicles can create. Whether it’s a quick chat on the high street or a reassuring presence in the park, bike patrols help build stronger community connections. This is neighbourhood policing in action. At the same time, e-bikes offer rapid response capabilities, helping officers reach incidents quickly — even in areas where vehicles struggle. They’re also quieter, more environmentally friendly, and cost-effective compared to traditional patrol cars. ✅ Legal and Safe Use of E-Bikes They have pedals and a motor with a max output of 250W The motor cuts out at 15.5mph We’re proud to use e-bikes to enhance visibility, improve mobility, and strengthen our connection with the community.
